How to Play SuperEnalotto

Playing the SuperEnalotto is simpler and more straight-forward than most other lotteries. All you need to do is choose 6 numbers out of a pool of 90 possible numbers. Each ticket is automatically assigned a “Jolly” number, which can boost your second-division prize (where you only need to correctly guess 5 numbers). Note that the Jolly number has no impact on the jackpot and is instead only there to boost your secondary prize to incredible new heights. If you really want to push for the big prizes, you can choose one additional number that will be used in the Italian SuperStar lotto. The SuperStar is a sister lottery that shares the same numbers as SuperEnalotto, only it draws one extra number. Matching the SuperStar as well can grow your prize by €2 million, €1 million or 25-100 times, depending on the prize division!

SuperEnalotto Prize Divisions

SuperEnalotto offers 6 different prize divisions that require different correct number guesses in order to qualify for each prize. Please note that the only prize division that requires a match of another number type is the secondary prize, but it’s matched by the “Jolly”, a number automatically assigned to each ticket. Prize Payout

Like most other lotteries around the world, SuperEnalotto gives you the option of collecting your prize money in either a lump sum, also known as a one-time payment or as annuities, also known as regular payment at fixed time intervals. Note that there may be different time intervals offered for annuity payouts, such as a monthly, bi-annually or annually basis. Another important thing to note is that you can expect the lump sum amount to be considerably lower than annuities. Which do you prefer?

SuperEnalotto: The Most Amazing Moments in History

SuperEnalotto’s proud legacy dates back to the early 1950s when it was still called Enalotto. It was an entirely different game back then, bearing very little resemblance to today’s standard number-selecting game rules. It was only in 1997 that Enalotto officially rebranded itself as SuperEnlotto, switching to the more common game rules known around the world in other lotteries. For the first time, the SuperEnalotto offered unlimited rollovers, meaning that the jackpot could potentially grow to unimaginable heights if no one claims the prize. Eventually, someone will, as we’ve seen with the super-impressive jackpots that have been handed out to lucky winners. Let’s have a peek at the most notable jackpots ever won at SuperEnalotto:

€209 million – Awarded in August of 2009 to a single, incredibly lucky winner!

€177.7 million – Awarded in October of 2010 to a syndicate (pool) of 70 members.

€163.5 million– Awarded in October of 2016 to a single winner!

Important Tax Information

If there’s one aspect the SuperEnalotto excels in, it’s the tax requirements. Although this has more to do with official monetary policies at the state level rather than the lottery itself, you’ll still be thrilled to find out that you’ll be paying fewer taxes here than for other major lotteries. There are 5 tax tiers in total. The first is for winnings of up to €100 where you’ll pay zero tax. Tier 2 is for winnings of between €100.01 and €300 and requires payment of only €1.03 as a one-time, flat tax. Tier 3 is for amounts between €300.01 and €500 and requires a €3.10 tax. Tier 4 is for amounts between €500.01 and €1000 and requires payment of €3.10 plus a 12% tax rate. Tier 5 is for winnings that exceed €1000 and requires payment of €6.20 and a tax rate of 12% on top.
